Abseil gantry solution for Wakefield House

manufactured using quality materials and adheres and exceeds Australian safety standards.

As the concentration of multi-storey buildings increases in Australia’s major urban centres, so too does the need for safe access systems that allow for easy maintenance and cleaning. As the national leader in design, manufacturing and installation of safety access systems, we’ve worked on projects for the likes of RioTinto, Warrington Fire and theUniversity of South Australia.

After working with the Government of South Australia on a safety system for the Adelaide East Education Centre, integrated facilities services provider SPOTLESS enlisted us again, this time to provide an abseil access solution for Wakefield House.

manufactured using quality materials and adheres and exceeds Australian safety standards.

The client required a gantry walkway to allow safe and easy access for rope technicians to abseil a 24-metre top floor plant room area, which was restricted due to the high internal wall hazard. When it comes to approaching a project like this, it’s important not only to construct a gantry that best fits the space for maximum safety, but also to determine the best industrial twin rope abseil system for the task, as each present different operator skill requirements and functionality.

After carefully assessing the site and understanding the personnel requirements, we designed, manufactured and installed a suspended aluminium gantry walkway to the inner upper roof external plant room wall. The gantry itself features multiple masonry anchor points to allow safe and efficient access to the upper wall.

As with all our designs, the gantry was manufactured using quality materials and adheres and exceeds Australian safety standards. Rope technicians are now able to access the space via an upper roof ladder system, which then allows them to set up their drop areas from the suspended gantry, ensuring the space can be used efficiently and safely.
