Time Critical Height Safety Installation for Mars-Wrigley

Mars Wrigley Factory

Mars Wrigley FactoryWhen Coleman & Fairburn Builders were engaged by Mars-Wrigley to supply an extended walkway into their live environment factory, they engaged RISSafety right away. Having worked with RISSafety before, Jordan Sommer (Project/Construction Manager at Coleman & Fairburn Builders) knew RISSafety was up to the task.

“The purpose of the job was to provide an egress walk, so that their staff were not walking through the forklift traffic. They wanted people to be able to walk above it, so they were not at any risk of getting hit by forklifts” Jordan explained. “I called RISSafety because I knew they could custom build what was needed, and I knew they would deliver. I have worked with RISSafety for the past 5 years on 15-20 projects, so I know I can trust them”.

The project needed to be completed within a specific 4-day turnaround time. Mars-Wrigley provided this shutdown period of 4 days to enable the new walkway to be installed. Having to shut down operations for 4 days was the extent of what they could do, so it was imperative to get the job done within this window. “RISSafety is very well organised. We had to organise materials, plans and have everything ready to go. Luckily, we knew that RISSafety is very diligent – so the project was completed without a hitch” Jordan said.

The project was completed using boom lifts and scissor lifts. Jordan mentioned that “it wasn’t a complicated project to manage, with RISSafety as our partners. One of the other projects we completed previously with RISSafety was on the top of Westmead Hospital, installing handrails in a live environment. RISSafety has such good coordination and management, so as a builder – when we have an existing relationship with a good partner like this, we will use them again because we know what we are paying for and we get exactly what we are paying for.”

“My account manager at RISSafety also makes a huge difference. He looks at a project diligently and quickly. He provides good assistance, he’s reliable and he makes the project planning really easy for me. I can’t speak for the whole of RISSafety but I know that he makes my life easy” Jordan went on to say.

When you work with RISsafety, you are appointed a dedicated team who consults with you from the bid stage right through to mobilisation of the project, and oversees ongoing service delivery. You’ll have an account manager who will work closely with you to ensure the project is delivered seamlessly. It is this customer-centric approach that really sets RISSafety ahead in this industry.
