About the Role:

We are seeking a Group Company Accountant to join our team and play a crucial role in supporting our CFO. This is an opportunity to work across an exciting portfolio, providing key financial insights and supporting impactful projects across our Corporate Group.  You will be responsible for the Financial Accounting function of our subsidiary entities and to ensure month-end  accounts for the subsidiary entities are closed off within month end deadline.

 

The Role

In this role, you will:

  • Ensure efficient and effective month-end close off.
  • Manage the monthly completion of balance sheets reconciliations for the subsidiary entities in the group.
  • Assist with the year end statutory audit.
  • Preparation and review of GST and payroll tax returns.
  • Maintaining the Fixed asset and CAPEX process.
  • Preparation of daily/weekly cash forecast.
  • Collaborate with other teams in Finance.
  • Manage the Intercompany process.
  • Liaison with external parties including banks, auditors and ATO.
  • Drive continuous improvement in financial and system processes.
  • Provide strategic financial guidance to key stakeholders, enabling effective decision-making across the organisation.
  • Oversee management accounting functions, including budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Lead initiatives to enhance budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting processes, supporting continuous improvement.
  • Manage corporate group journals and ensure accurate monthly group consolidation for reliable financial reporting.
  • Assist the CFO in preparing and presenting monthly board packs, translating financial data into actionable insights.
  • Support change management, process enhancements, and system upgrades to improve financial operations.
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting, leveraging Power BI to create insightful visualisations.

 

About You

To succeed in this role, you will have:

  • You are degree qualified. Highly desirable to see someone working towards a CPA or CA if not already attained Professional accounting qualifications (CA, CPA, or equivalent).
  • Advanced Excel Skills: You should be highly proficient in Excel, with expertise in advanced formulas, pivot tables, data modelling.
  • Familiarity using Power BI
  • A hands-on, broad range Accountant who can work independently
  • You have experience with Payroll and P&L reports.
  • Ideally, you will be able to set up workflow, processes and review the existing systems to make improvements.
  • You have excellent English communication skills and can work with non-finance to explain what is happening in the numbers.
  • You can work autonomously, have strong initiative and will have great enthusiasm to support the business owners with their endeavours.
  • Demonstrated understanding of budgeting and management reporting practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Prior experience in the manufacturing industry and stock management is highly desirable.
  • We are a national company with offices across Australia, and occasional short-term travel may be required at various locations.
